Goethe University Frankfurt

Goethe University is a cosmopolitan workshop for the future situated in the heart of Europe. In 1914, Frankfurt's citizens founded it as an autonomous foundation university, and today it boasts over 40,000 students. It is one of the biggest and strongest research universities in Germany. The university is renowned for its research in six core areas, as well as its diversity in the humanities, social, natural, and life sciences — including medicine.

“Does this qualify as art or can it be discarded?" Or does it perhaps even have to be discarded? How long has it even been in this spot? And what effect does it have on the public space and on us? What significance do works of art and monuments have for our democracy? We will explore similar questions together during the dialogical WALK & SEE.

We take you on a journey to the first rock art expeditions in the 20th century and explore the question of how modern artists were inspired by cave paintings.

Gerade an langen Sommertagen ist das Verlangen groß den ganzen Tag draußen zu verbringen. Um sich vor der Sonne zu schützen ist es wichtig Sonnencreme zu verwenden. Seit Jahren ist jedoch klar, dass Sonnencreme schädlich für unsere Ökosysteme ist. Mit dem studentischen Forschungsprojekt “SOLAR - Save our Lives And Reefs” versucht das iGEM Team der Goethe-Universität Frankfurt UV Filter zu synthetisieren die haut- und umweltfreundlich sind. Zusätzlich hilft die SOLAR App durch Scannen des Barcodes von Sonnencreme, die Gefahren der Bestandteile direkt beim Kauf einzuschätzen.
