iGEM Frankfurt: Student Project on Organ Donation
The iGEM team “HIDE – HLA Interference via Disguise and Erasure” is focusing on organ donation and transplantation. The goal is to specifically reduce the immune response to transplanted organs without suppressing the immune system throughout the entire body. Instead, the aim is to attenuate the immune response locally at the transplanted organ.
iGEM („International Genetically Engineered Machine“) is a global student competition in synthetic biology.
The presentation will be given by Alessandra Schröder and Marie Etz from this year's Goethe University team. Marie works in the wet lab and conducts experiments, while Alessandra, as team lead, is responsible for organizing and leading the team.
